Game text to speech

Text to speech for Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous

Wrath of the Righteous voices some of its dialogue and leaves the rest, plus book events, the encyclopedia and every feat and spell, as text. Corvo Reader reads any of it aloud in a natural voice.

Where WotR's text piles up

Dialogue is partly voiced, with long unvoiced narration between the voiced lines. Illustrated book events, crusade management events, mythic path text, encyclopedia-linked tooltips, and the spell and feat descriptions at level-up are all text.

Level-up without the reading wall

Box a feat or spell description with Ctrl+Shift+E to hear it.

During level-up, save the description pane as a region. Saved regions read with one key, so you can step through the options and listen.

Compared with the WotR SpeechMod

Osmodium's free SpeechMod reads dialogue and inspected text with your Windows voices, and needs Unity Mod Manager. There are AI voiceover mods as well.

Corvo Reader needs no mod manager, uses natural AI voices, and also works in your other games.

Questions

WotR and Corvo Reader.

Does Wrath of the Righteous have text to speech?

Not built in. The community SpeechMod adds it with Windows voices; Corvo Reader does it without a mod.

Does it work with the Enhanced Edition?

Corvo Reader reads the screen, so it works with whichever version of the game you run on Windows.

Which display mode does WotR need?

Borderless or Windowed. In exclusive fullscreen, Windows keeps the game's picture away from other apps, so Corvo Reader can't see the text. Where to look: Display settings: windowed or borderless. Check your game's display settings, as the exact label can change between versions.

Is it free?

Yes. The free plan needs no card: standard neural voices for 20 minutes of narration a week. Paid plans start at $6.99 a month and add weekly premium voice minutes, unlimited standard voices, Summarize and Translate.
